"We managed to launch it in time for the National Trailer Multihull
Regatta ... There was a great deal of interest shown by many visitors and
all were impressed by the amount of space inside for such a small craft.
It really does look nice on the water."
"On the first sail we found it heavy on the tiller... we decided to
make a balanced rudder ... and found the performance quite good ...A couple
of photos are enclosed which show the rudder with 80mm ahead of the pivot
point at the top and 40mm at the bottom, and this gives finger tip control."
(the balanced rudder will now be included in all
plans as an option.)
"The little boat proved to be very stable and comfortable to sail."
"..... has done a single handed sail from here (Harvey
Bay) to Gladstone, overnighting at Bundaberg and Pancake creek
on the way. The wind was light when he left but increased to about 20 -
25 kph during the day so he dropped the jib and sailed on full main as
he was unable to reef on his own. Nearing Bundaberg there were about 2
metre waves and he was a little concerned about surfing down them, but
he was pleased with the way the bow lifts on the back of the next wave
with no tendency to dig in. He also said the boat remained very dry with
no waves thrown up aboard. ... He is pleased with the convenience of accomodation
and the performance although the weather was quite hot"
(Harvey Bay to Gladstone is a coastal voyage
of several hundred kilometres of exposed Pacific coastline. This is not
the designed sailing conditions for the boat, and this is truly a remarkable
effort. Well done!!!)
"We competed in the Multi-Hull Regatta recently and won the fastest
time and handicap for Division 3. The performance to windward is very good
and we were beating Farrier Tramps to windward even though they were in
a differant division and started 5 minutes ahead of us."
"As you can see from the photos the boat sits nicely in the water and
has been much admired by all who have seen it."
"I must say, it is certainly a unique experience not to be overtaken
by other boats on the bay on our first outing. I'm sure she will increase
in speed as we get more used to her."
